Project Virtual Reality Check (VRC) kicked off a survey program last year to find out more information around the non-technical issues related to the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Server-Based Computing (SBC) markets. The results of which were details in the groups VDI state of the union for 2013 report.
Project VRC is back again this year, and they have announced a new survey for 2014. The group is looking for 10-15 minutes of your time to quickly answer questions that have to do with the technology as well as the environment/setup/use. Example questions include things like: What is the most important reason to use this VDI environment?, Is the storage infrastructure specifically designed for VDI workloads?, Which storage technologies are used to host these desktops?, How is this VDI/SBC environment used/considered within the organization?, Do you use specific hardware to accelerate (video) encoding of the remoting protocol?
The aim of the survey is to get the most unbiased and trustworthy information Desktop Virtualization (both VDI and SBC/TS) is currently being seen and utilized.
Project VRC will publish and present the summary and interesting findings after the survey is closed at the end of Q1 2014.
