Gravitant adds support for VMware's vCloud Hybrid Service to its Cloud Services Brokerage Platform

Gravitant, the leader in cloud services brokerage, today announced that it has added VMware’s vCloud Hybrid Service (vCHS) to its ecosystem of supported clouds. Gravitant’s cloudMatrix brokerage-enablement platform gives enterprises optimized choice and control across the most widely used public and private cloud services. cloudMatrix makes it easier for enterprises to adopt cloud computing by providing a common collaboration platform between business and IT across the entire lifecycle – from initial application infrastructure design and sourcing to financial management and governance of the cloud spend. With the addition of vCHS to the cloudMatrix catalog, enterprise customers can now:

  • Design multi-tier cloud solutions across VMware-based public and private clouds using a visual cloud solution designer
  • Include vCHS in a consistent framework for cloud services order management using a comprehensive business platform
  • Add managed services as needed to complete their cloud infrastructure solution and enable production applications
  • Have a common consumption framework between VMware private clouds and VMware public clouds

“Gravitant’s cloudMatrix brokerage platform enables multiple cloud services to be aggregated into a solution. Customers who use cloudMatrix will be able to construct complete IT solutions including services not yet available on vCHS and thus enhance their experience with vCHS,” said Wayne Pauley, senior analyst with Enterprise Strategy Group. “cloudMatrix helps level the playing field between clouds. In conjunction with cloudMatrix, vCHS actually becomes more competitive with AWS in the breadth of services offered.”

Enterprises can now leverage cloudMatrix to facilitate their use of both VMware private and public clouds on their journey to IT-as-a-Service. cloudMatrix simplifies IT solution creation across cloud and managed services and enables enterprises to move beyond today’s cloud management platforms to a solution that truly allows them to realize an IT-as-a-Service experience.

“Gravitant is dedicated to helping organizations get the full benefit of hybrid cloud computing,” said Mohammed Farooq, CEO of Gravitant. “By adding VMware’s vCloud Hybrid Service to our catalog, we increase the choice of enterprise-class clouds for customers and make on-boarding to and governance of these clouds easy because our brokerage platform synchronizes enterprise IT with business processes.”

Gravitant’s Discovery and Sync for VMware Clouds makes it easy to consolidate the management of VMware-based private clouds into a common multi-cloud platform that drives standardization and simplification. It provides a streamlined way to import key attributes of a VMware cloud such as the vApps and vApp templates into cloudMatrix. The sync feature allows VMware admins to continue to use VMware consoles alongside cloudMatrix.

While IT organizations continue to invest in private clouds, many struggle to get traction. Private clouds do not provide the same buyer experience for business users who prefer the simplicity of public clouds. Using Gravitant’s new Service Templates for Private Clouds, IT can mimic public cloud providers such as Amazon, Terremark and now vCHS in how they display and offer their private cloud services. For organizations that have made a significant investment in VMware private cloud technologies, they can now greatly improve the buying and consumption experience of their private clouds that their business end-users desire.
