NewCloud Networks Offers the Virtual Private Data Center to Businesses Seeking Hybrid Cloud Solutions

After the successful testing and launch of the Virtual Private Data Center service to mid-market businesses across the country, NewCloud Networks is now offering the service hybrid cloud solution. NewCloud’s President, Sam V. Kumar, is calling the service “agile and scalable; perfect for businesses who are looking to move portions of their infrastructure to the Cloud, while keeping portions of their IT workload onsite.”

Businesses today are rapidly adopting Cloud infrastructure technology. According to Gartner research, the Infrastructure-as-a-Service market is growing at over 40% CAGR. The emergence of virtualization has made it possible for businesses to achieve better hardware utilization by running multiple virtual servers on their host servers either in their own data centers or in the cloud. The vPDC solution from NewCloud Networks allows businesses to use a combination of both. “The vPDC solution is incredibly versatile. We’re seeing new ways for businesses to utilize the service all the time,” says Kumar.

One such case is migration of a business’s testing environment to the Cloud. The vPDC allows for administrators to launch test servers in as little as 3 minutes and place new or upgraded applications in their testing environment until it’s time to launch. “Using the vPDC as a testing environment while keeping the main IT workload onsite is a very effective way to isolate resources and avoid the capital expense of purchasing server hardware for that purpose,” says Kristofor Hogaboom, Vice President of Engineering at NewCloud Networks.

An alternative use for the service would be migrating selected applications that are sure to scale, such as email or collaborative software. Using the vPDC service, administrators can scale their individual virtual servers up or down within their allocated pool of resources, making it faster for businesses to on-board employees or increase capacity for existing personnel.

NewCloud has also seen opportunity to use the service for disaster recovery. The company recently announced a major data center expansion for 2014, allowing businesses in any region of the country to host their data in the location of their choice and back up their data to an alternative location. “We are excited to be growing and adding data center capacity in new locations. Our geographic diversity, security certifications (HIPAA Compliance and SOC 2 Type 1 Certification), and top of the line data center components are now easy for businesses to use at an affordable price,” says Sam V. Kumar.
