Windstream Hosted Solutions, a VMware vCloud Powered Service Provider partner and part of Windstream one of the nation's premier providers of enterprise-class cloud and managed hosted solutions, has partnered with Racemi , the leading cloud migration Software as a Service (SaaS) provider, to launch the first-ever VMware vCloud Director enabled cloud migrations using Racemi Cloud Path. This tool will enable businesses to quickly and automatically migrate existing physical and virtual servers into one of Windstream's eight multi-tenant cloud platforms, all of which are VMware hybrid cloud enabled.

By leveraging Racemi's Cloud Path SaaS platform, Windstream will accelerate server migration, allowing enterprise customers to continue daily business operations during the migration without experiencing downtime. With this automated process, the data transfer occurs in the background while the production server stays up and running. Additionally, Cloud Path's self-service portal has been fully integrated into Windstream's cloud portal, offering a seamless transition into the Windstream cloud.

Windstream will showcase its new server migration capability at the EMC World conference in Las Vegas, from Monday, May 5, through Wednesday, May 7, at booth 703. During the "On-Ramp to the Cloud" demonstrations conducted throughout each day, the Windstream team will highlight industry best practices used to facilitate physical to virtual server and storage environment transitions.

Many businesses face cloud adoption barriers that include a lack of skill, knowledge or ability to move physical instances into a virtualized cloud environment. The Windstream demonstration will include an actual migration view, as well as discussion of the benefits of the automated process with Racemi personnel, including the speed and cost benefits, as Windstream migrates the operating system, applications, network and storage configuration in one automated workflow.

Another highlight is Windstream's DRaaS Site Recovery Manager (SRM), which provides fully-automated replication and recovery of Windstream Hosted Solutions managed cloud environments. VMware vCenter SRM recovers VMware servers to a remote and geo-independent Windstream Hosted Solutions cloud environment. SRM utilizes periodic or continuous storage-based replication, providing a recovery point objective of less than 15 minutes.
