Ensim Corporation, a leading provider of automation and
orchestration solutions for users and organizations with business
applications, services and infrastructure, today announced the
availability of Ensim IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) Manager 3.0
for VMware. In concert with the Ensim Automation Suite, IaaS Manager
provides the complete end-to-end managed cloud solution that service
providers need to support evolving customer demands. This includes
marketplace, service catalog, ordering, provisioning, orchestration,
administration, and billing functionality. IaaS Manager supports
multiple hypervisors such as VMware vSphere, Xen, and KVM, managed
by VMware vCloud Director and VMware vCloud Automation Center,
as well as Microsoft hypervisors and even OpenStack -- all from a
single platform.
IaaS Manager enables the rapid and effective creation of offers from
service providers' own public, private or hybrid cloud-based IaaS
solutions via a robust service catalog. It enables usage tracking
with billing and chargeback, and provides simplified, consistent
self-service operations administration for the end-user, IT admins,
agents, and resellers via an easy-to-use role-based portal. New
features in 3.0 include 3-step VM creation, network automation, SSO
to VM consoles, nested snap shots, and more.
"Ensim's IaaS Manager allows service providers and enterprises to
leverage the combination of agility and control that our leading
VMware solutions offer, and to incorporate the front and back-end
functionalities necessary to commercialize the delivery of IT
services via the cloud," said Sanjay Katyal, vice president, Global
Strategic Alliances, VMware.
"Service providers and even many enterprises need a way to
commercialize cloud-based IT offers," said Dave Wippich, CEO, Ensim.
"Ensim IaaS Manager is able to work with VMware vCloud Director(R)
and VMware vCloud Automation Center(TM) to cost-effectively provide
BSS/OSS functionality with multi-tenant and dedicated deployment
architectures for public, private, or hybrid clouds."
With IaaS Manager, Ensim supports virtual machine management,
including the ordering of both individual virtual machines (VPS), as
well as the purchase, deployment and management of virtual data
centers (VDC). Ensim allows for rapid development cycles and puts the
virtual data center owner in full control of managing the environment
without having to make an additional purchase each time a new virtual
machine is deployed. Alternatively, the VPS model is often a more
cost-effective option for smaller businesses and users who enjoy
system administrator-level access to one or more virtual machines
with their own operating system and bundled software, or can install
any software that runs on that OS.
