Infinio brings less latency, more VM density to XenDesktop
Infinio, the price/performance leader in VDI storage acceleration, is pleased to announce its product has been verified as Citrix Ready. The Citrix Ready designation is awarded to third-party partners that have successfully met test criteria set by Citrix, and gives customers an added confidence in the compatibility of the joint solution offering.

Unlike alternate server-side caching solutions, Infinio requires no new hardware, and works with the datastores customers already have. By offloading 65-85 percent of reads from the storage system, Infinio increases IOPS and decreases latency, allowing current storage hardware to support more virtual desktops with better performance.

 "Customers running XenDesktop can see tremendous performance gains by adding our in-memory caching solution to their infrastructure," said Peter Smith, Infinio Vice President of Product Management. "Our architectural approach is completely transparent and non-disruptive, which customers tell us makes a big difference in day-to-day operations." 

Infinio Accelerator benefits include:
  • Improved storage performance for both persistent and non-persistent desktops.
  • Requires no new hardware, no service disruption, and no changes to current datastores. Infinio is invisible to both the storage system and the virtualized environment, requiring no operational changes.
  • Smoothed latency spikes that would otherwise occur during coordinated events such as boot storms, login storms, or virus scanning, resulting in a more consistent end user experience.
  • Improved VDI economics through supporting more desktops with better performance on the storage hardware customers already have.
