Nutanix, the leading provider of next-generation datacenter infrastructure solutions, today announced that Cochise County, in Arizona, is replacing its legacy server infrastructure with a new cost-effective, easy-to-deploy cloud environment. The Cochise County IT team will implement the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform, Microsoft Corp Windows Server 2012 R2 with Hyper-V and System Center 2012 R2 to virtualize and host all of the County’s applications, including critical ERP systems, SQL Server, and web servers accessed by public and county employees.

After a thorough evaluation process, Cochise County chose the combination of Windows Server 2012 R2 with Hyper-V, Systems Center 2012 R2, and Nutanix because it provides a cost-effective and flexible way to run all of its virtualized applications as they move away from inefficient standalone servers with direct-attached storage. The Nutanix platform and Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V technologies enable Cochise County to start small and seamlessly scale out as they expand services, keeping costs low and infrastructure growth simple.
