Zenoss Inc., provider of commercial and open source unified IT
monitoring and management solutions for physical, virtual, and
cloud-based IT infrastructure, today announced that its open source
product, Zenoss Core 4, was named a finalist for the 2014 SIIA Software
CODiE Awards for Best Open Source Innovation. The
SIIA CODiE Awards
are the premier award for the software and information industries, and
have been recognizing product excellence for 29 years. The awards have
over 75 categories and are organized by industry focus of Content, Education, and Software.
This year’s program features 28 software categories, several of which
are new or updated to reflect the latest industry trends. Winners will
be announced during a special awards dinner on May 21 in San Francisco
during the industry's premier ISV gathering of SaaS, BI, and Cloud
providers, Maximize.
Zenoss Core 4, the open source offering from Zenoss, along with Zenoss Service Dynamics,
Zenoss’ commercial enterprise solution, are the most powerful pair of
commercial/open source IT monitoring solutions in the industry. Zenoss
Core offers unified monitoring for applications, servers, storage,
networking, and virtualization, providing agentless collection of both
availability and performance metrics. Processing up to 100 million
events per day, Zenoss Core’s sophisticated notification and trigger
system can automate most monitoring, notification, alert, escalation,
and remediation tasks, while its robust APIs facilitate easy integration
into any environment. Finally, Zenoss Core leverages a library of 300+
plug-ins known as ZenPacks to achieve broad coverage and rapid
extensibility.
“We have been using Zenoss Core for four years. Zenoss’ innovation is
unmatched and is completely changing how our company operates. We are
much more proactive in handling issues. The Zenoss community is helpful
and very engaged in the IRC channel. Being nominated for the CODiE award
is exciting for Zenoss and the community because it will fuel the Core
community’s passion to take the product even further!” said Trey
Hunsucker, Field Engineer, Consolidated Networks Corporation.
“In order to tame the growing complexity of IT, organizations need a
modern approach to IT Operations,” said Chris Smith, CMO, Zenoss. “With
the support of our more than 100,000 community members, Zenoss Core
continues to push the technology envelope, provides modular enhancements
via our ZenPack extensions, and further simplifies IT management. We’re
proud to be recognized as an industry leader and the standout solution
in open source IT management.”
“This year’s CODiE Awards finalists showcase the innovation and
creativity in today’s market. We are happy to recognize them for their
products that are breaking ground in the software industry,” said
Rhianna Collier, VP for the Software Division at SIIA. “I look forward
