Nixu
Software today announced that ObjectRocket,
the Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) division of Rackspace, has selected
Nixu for its Software-Defined IPAM and DHCP services. The announcement
comes in the wake of Gartner’s latest DDI Market Guide highlighting Nixu
as the go-to vendor for cloud and managed service providers, further
strengthening the company’s market position as the leader in this
rapidly evolving industry vertical.
Acquired by Rackspace in 2013, ObjectRocket operates a DBaaS cloud
offering based on MongoDB, the leading open source NoSQL database.
Through its innovative DBaaS business model that eliminates the need for
expensive software licenses and in-house database administrator staff
required to run industry-standard database solutions such as Oracle,
ObjectRocket by Rackspace provides software developers with a unique POD
architecture supporting seamless scaling on an on-demand basis.
“I am thrilled and feel privileged about the opportunity that Rackspace
decided to give us,” said Juha Holkkola, managing director of Nixu
Software. “As Rackspace moves forward with the go-to-market of its DBaaS
cloud offering, I am confident that we will see this initiative scale
beyond belief. This gives us a front seat in watching how this rapidly
changing market evolves, allowing us to maintain our
technology-leadership in our own technology domain,” he added.
