StorMagic Launches VMware VSA Trade-In Program

StorMagic, a leading provider of enterprise-class software-defined storage for virtual server environments, today announced it is offering a new trade-in program in which users of VMware’s vSphere Storage Appliance (VSA) can swap their VSA shared storage solution for the latest version of StorMagic’s flagship product SvSAN at no cost. Users will need to act fast, as the program will only run through the end of VMworld San Francisco.

This program comes in response to VMware’s recent announcement that VSA is no longer available for purchase in the market – and support for the product will end in September 2018.

“VMware’s decision to end-of-life its VSA product poses some serious challenges for VMware users,” said Matt Durkin, executive vice president of sales for StorMagic. “Costs of using VMware virtual storage will rise; Virtual SAN, VMware’s current virtual storage solution doesn’t meet the needs of the enterprise edge and there’s no easy upgrade path from VMware VSA to VMware VSAN. SvSAN is an industry-leading platform designed to solve the challenges at the edge, so we want to make it as easy as possible for users to replace a piece of newly obsolete technology and take advantage of SvSAN’s unique value.”

SvSAN, a software solution that delivers a virtualized shared storage platform, enables enterprises to eliminate downtime and ensure high availability of business critical applications at the edge where disruptions directly equate to losses in revenue and service. By leveraging existing server storage and presenting it as a virtual SAN, SvSAN supports a wide range of organizations – from those with 10 edge sites to those with 10,000 or more – through minimal IT infrastructure. It also offers IT organizations a clear migration path from any existing storage solutions, minimizing transition burdens.
