Zenoss Inc,
the leading provider of unified monitoring and management solutions for
physical, virtual, and cloud-based IT infrastructures, today announced
the company has expanded the IT Operations
Analytics capabilities of its Zenoss Service Dynamics solution.
As evidenced in the 2013 Forrester Consulting study,
inadequate capacity continues to be the top reason for service
performance and availability issues. With downtime costs often exceeding
$100,000 per hour, there is immense focus on optimization of the
capacity planning process. Unfortunately, because of the complexity and
dynamic nature of today's datacenters, comprised of legacy, virtualized
and cloud based infrastructure, effective capacity planning is both more
challenging and more critical at the same time.
"Effective analytics are key to efficient and dependable
datacenter operations. With the ever-increasing complexity of today's
datacenters, ensuring reliable performance and availability is a huge
challenge," said Alan Conley, CTO of Zenoss. "With this latest
enhancement to the Zenoss solution, our customers have a single
dashboard where they can see if the services are being delivered as
designed, identify trends, and proactively eliminate issues and
bottlenecks."
Enhanced IT Operations Analytics capabilities now available in Zenoss Service Dynamics include:
- Improved capacity management - Based upon historical
trends, Zenoss predicts the utilization rate X days forward which allow
you to more effectively identify and manage future capacity
requirements.
- Better handling of very large data sets - Enhanced export, transform
and load (ETL) capabilities within Zenoss allow parallel loading of
information to significantly shorten time required to analyze enormous
amounts of data.
- Enhanced reporting for highly distributed operations across multiple
time zones - Analytics brings significant value to globally dispersed
organizations by generating reports that show information pertinent to
the business hours of the local operations.
- Focus on significant data using Nth percentile calculations - For
areas such as network traffic where percentiles rather than min/max or
even averages provide relevant data, Zenoss helps you filter the noise
by eliminating insignificant outliers.
