Join These Three #Virtualization Experts and Espresso Presentations During #VMworld 2014 US

If you are attending VMworld 2014 in San Francisco next week, you might want to update your calendars for a new series of presentations being kicked off this year.  SolarWinds is bringing something new to the stage at VMworld, and they are calling it Experts & Espresso.

SolarWinds is bringing together a bunch of industry experts to help make sense of some of the key questions that are on the mind's of virtualization users like yourself, and they are bringing answers to the table along with a morning beverage to get you started on your day.

VMworld is a busy show, so the beauty of this presentation style is that not only will it answer the questions being posed, but they will do so in a short, concise way -- about 20 minutes, and they promise no early morning death by PowerPoint.  To help get you energized, join the session live and enjoy a free coffee or espresso from local roasters Ritual Coffee at the complimentary coffee bar, and enjoy some early morning snacks.   Wake up, head out, get educated and join the live session at Jillian's San Francisco, 175 Fourth Street, a quick stop on your way to the Moscone Center. Follow this map

And don't worry, you can still get educated (minus the coffee or espresso) if you aren't able to make it to VMworld or you just can't wake up and get ready in time.  SolarWinds is also going to stream these three day sessions LIVE on their VMworld landing page:  http://go.solarwinds.com/vmworld14

Ok, so what's the plan?  Here are the details on the sessions:

Monday: Managing & Optimizing Across the Application Stack

7:30 to 8:45 a.m. PDT

This is a joint session from Scott Johnson, Sr. Systems Administrator from LogixHealth, talking about his experiences managing an IT environment along with Dan McDougal, from Performance Tuning Corp., providing suggestions on the top ways to optimize application performance across the application stack on a limited budget.

Tuesday:  Storage I/O is About to Get Crazy

7:30 to 8:45 a.m. PDT

This session will address the mind-blowing array of storage I/O technologies with Storage and Virtualization guru Stephen Foskett, organizer of Tech Field Day and "pack rat" blogger.  In his discussion, “Storage I/O is About to Get Crazy,” Stephen will help layout the landscape of Storage I/O technologies so that at a high level you can understand the types of approaches that vendors are taking to solve the problem and some of the advantages and disadvantages of each.

Come interact and learn more about how traditional SAN and NAS have been augmented with technologies like VAAI to work with the “I/O Blender.”  Also learn more about distributed and converged storage technologies like VSAN.  So when you hit the Expo show floor and you're talking with Storage and I/O vendors, you'll already have a framework and context to understand where that technology fits.

Wednesday: Use Cases for Managing VMware NSX in a Traditional Network Environment

7 to 8:30 a.m. PDT

And of course SolarWinds understands traditional networking and managing those environments, so they've paired up an internal expert, SolarWinds Chief Technology Officer Joel Dolisy with VMware’s NSX expert Venky Deshpande to discuss “Use Cases for Managing VMware NSX in a Traditional Network Environment”. This talk will discuss the key points of intersection between the NSX technology and the traditional network environment and how you would manage both together.
