Professional Civil Process Chooses @NIMBOXX for Data Center Virtualization

NIMBOXX, creator of the atomic unit of the software-defined data center, today announced that Professional Civil Process (PCP), a leading Texas process server and trusted partner to the legal community for more than 35 years, has deployed the NIMBOXX hyper-converged infrastructure technology to virtualize PCP’s data center. The company chose the NIMBOXX solution because it delivers extreme simplicity and powerful performance, while reducing overall costs.

Providing critical document management services to legal professionals across 254 counties, PCP has developed sophisticated mobile interfaces, bar-code tracking and scanning solutions to increase efficiency. The company had long sought a virtualization solution to provide greater application resilience, considering fragmented solutions from the big server vendors, the big storage vendors and virtualization software from VMware and Microsoft. Due to overwhelming cost and complexity, these solutions proved to be unviable.

PCP turned to the NIMBOXX hyper-converged technology, which includes server, storage, networking and security in a single system. Unlike other hyper-converged technologies, the entire software stack was developed by NIMBOXX, and required no integrations or additional license costs. It also delivered an impressive 180,000 IOPS and provided the failover capabilities required by PCP.

“There are many small businesses like us that have the performance and availability demands of larger enterprises, but don’t have the budget or staff to manage the cost and complexity of traditional solutions,” said Rick Keeney, president and founder of PCP. “NIMBOXX is changing the game. Performance is off the charts, the systems are simple to use, and the team is a pleasure to work with. It’s icing on the cake that we won’t spend a dime on hypervisors from VMware or Microsoft.”

PCP maintains a mix of legacy databases that track, monitor and store critical data such as GPS tracking, photo verification and electronic document management, resulting in stringent I/O and availability requirements. While all signs pointed to virtualizing, efforts to evaluate and size appropriate technologies resulted in non-action due to issues of cost and complexity.

Working with systems integrator Stream IT, PCP discovered the NIMBOXX all-in-one solution to solve its virtualization challenges.

“NIMBOXX gives PCP the ability to virtualize and save money while actually improving performance and availability,” said Rick Redfern, president of Stream IT, a systems integrator and NIMBOXX partner. “We firmly believe in providing clients with technology that translates into value. NIMBOXX simplifies virtualization in a way we’ve never seen before.”

“We are relentless in our pursuit of delivering the benefits of a software-defined data center to the masses,” said Rocky Bullock, CEO of NIMBOXX. “This is an example of how we’re making this a reality. We’re proud to call PCP a customer.”
