RapidMiner Makes it a Snap to Move Predictive Analytics, Data Mining and Machine Learning into the Cloud
Pioneering predictive analytics leader RapidMiner today announced the general availability of RapidMiner Cloud. RapidMiner Cloud provides an easy, low cost way to:
  • Push analytics processing to the Cloud;
  • Leverage over 300 popular Cloud data services; and
  • Access analytic processes anywhere in the world.

These, and additional capabilities, will be demonstrated online in a webinar titled “How to Apply Advanced Analytics in the Cloud,” on October 23 at 10:00 a.m. ET. RapidMiner will also be conducting RapidMiner Cloud demonstrations at the Strata + Hadoop World Conference next week, when the service will be available to all.

With a single click, business analysts can harness the compute power of the Cloud for their analytic models – including data prep; building, training and validating models; and scoring models. At the same time, RapidMiner Cloud can leverage cloud data services by plugging into more than 300 leading cloud platforms including Amazon,, Twitter, Dropbox and Zapier. RapidMiner Cloud extends a powerful new predictive analytics environment, offering users analytics pervasiveness and “anywhere, anytime” accessibility to Big Data. Pricing for RapidMiner Cloud starts at $39 per month for connectors and a repository, and as low as 39¢/minute for processing.

“RapidMiner is at the forefront of analytics innovation, both on-premise and in the cloud,” said Ingo Mierswa, CEO of RapidMiner. “Our new solution helps business analysts overcome major challenges—computational horsepower, unnecessary data movement, and on-the-go access. RapidMiner’s advanced analytics for the cloud offers an elastic infrastructure that helps IT overcome the peaks and valleys of computation demand. With a single click, users maximize cloud data value and easily implement cost effective, ‘anywhere, anytime’ predictive analytics.”

RapidMiner understands the unique needs of today’s mobile workforce. RapidMiner Cloud includes connectors to cloud-based data sources that can be used locally and in the cloud with seamless transitioning between the two. This allows users to literally process Big Data at anytime and in any place, either working in the cloud or picking up where they left off when back in the office. This feature is especially important for mobile staff and consultants in the field.

“Advanced analytics is impacting how organizations approach their businesses on a daily basis. As employees increasingly work remotely and on the go, it is important to offer analytical solutions that empower today’s mobile workforce,” said John Myers, Managing Research Director for BI/DW at Enterprise Management Associates – a Boulder, CO –based industry analysis firm. “Companies, such as RapidMiner, continue to deliver innovative approaches to providing advanced analytics capabilities. RapidMiner is positioning themselves as a leader in the Big Data analytics space with their solution set.”

RapidMiner Cloud functionality is included in the latest RapidMiner Studio release, which also includes Wisdom of Crowds Operator Recommendations, NoSQL connectors for Cassandra/DataStax and MongoDB, and JSON operators. The new Wisdom of Crowds Operator Recommendations is a giant leap forward in making advanced analytics accessible to business analysts by intelligently suggesting ways to create analytic processes based on the wisdom gained from millions of advanced analytic models created by the quickly expanding RapidMiner community. The cloud connectors are also included free of charge in the latest release of RapidMiner Server Professional, Professional Plus and Enterprise Editions, which also include NoSQL connectors for Cassandra/DataStax and MongoDB, and JSON operators.

RapidMiner’s predictive analytics software helps companies across multiple industries in areas where advanced analytics can make a significant impact, such as churn reduction, product propensity modeling, predictive maintenance, sentiment analysis and more. Different than competing products, the RapidMiner platform derives its extensibility via source-code availability and integration with other open-source solutions.
