New Generation of Virtualization Technologies for Desktops

Russian software startup Eltechs launched the worldwide release of its “Eltechs ExaGear Desktop” virtualization solution which opens up a host of new possibilities for running apps across platforms. ExaGear Desktop makes it possible to run Intel x86 application on ARM-based devices, and is targeted to individuals running ARM-based Mini PCs and to businesses deploying ARM-based devices to cut costs.

ExaGear Desktop makes it possible to run any x86 Linux application on an ARM-based device such as Jetson, versions of Chromebooks, even Windows applications (with the help of open-source software Wine). ExaGear Desktop also boasts outstanding performance specs - in tests it runs 4.5 times faster than Qemu.

“We are pleased to add this Desktop version of ExaGear to our range of products which includes the server solution ExaGear Server and mobile solution ExaGear Mobile. Merging the reliability of server software and the ease-of-use of a mobile application, ExaGear Desktop is a unique solution for running Intel x86 applications on ARM,” said Vadim Gimpelson, CEO of Eltechs.
