VMTurbo's Largest-Ever Release Enables Dynamic Network Control to Transform IT Operations

VMTurbo, the only software-driven control platform for the software-defined universe, today launched the latest release of VMTurbo. This release – the most extensive in company history – further extends VMTurbo’s patented virtualization and cloud control across the full IT stack into network control and up into the cloud and applications. The release’s new network control enables the automated localization of chatty applications, reducing latency in east-west traffic and network congestion – as well as providing enhanced hybrid cloud control, application and container control, and control of Virtual Desktop (VDI) environments.

“With this release, VMTurbo now enables our customers to extend control deeper into their IT stack, driving their datacenters to a healthier equilibrium to assure application performance while maximizing efficiency,” said CEO Ben Nye. “This opens up a world of opportunities for our users to redefine how they approach IT operations by matching demand from applications, containers and VDI instances across the network with supply across all infrastructure components in their datacenter or a public cloud.”

Key benefits of the Network Control Module include:

  • Dynamically grouping frequently-communicating (“chatty”) workloads together to reduce latency while assuring compute and storage demands are met
  • Control of workload placement eliminating the need for configuring and managing affinity rules
  • Localizing traffic to appropriate hosts, assuring port utilization is most efficient
  • Enabling Software-Defined Networking, Big Data initiatives and hybrid cloud deployments
  • Providing users a solution to complex, labor intensive and volatile operations processes and maintaining their environment in a healthy and consistent state.

“One of the biggest challenges facing datacenter operators is increased east-west traffic due to multi-tier applications, and the latency that impacts performance,” said Shmuel Kliger, President and Founder of VMTurbo. “Our Network Control, along with Hybrid Cloud Control as well as control for Applications, Containers and Virtual Desktops, facilitates a greater understanding of the intricacies of our customers’ environments, and thus more informed decision-making driving the datacenter to a healthier equilibrium, to control it there in that state of perpetual health.”

On Wednesday, November 12, VMTurbo and OpenSky Corp. will be hosting a live webinar on how they delivered a Fortune 50 International Health Insurer customer 1600% growth, with zero downtime, when tasked with increasing the efficiency of its VDI environment and scaling from 1,500 to 25,000 seats in less than four years. To learn how, register for the webinar.
