Eco4Cloud, global leader in virtualization maximization and datacenter optimization, proudly announced its involvement in the Advisory Board of RenewIT, a European Commission
research project focused on renewable energy and energy efficiency in
the Data Centers. The Advisory Board includes experts from the
commercial data center industry as well as leading scientific
researchers, including Schneider Electric, the US National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the University of Leeds.
RenewIT
will contribute to new and established metrics, data center management,
and the wider policy implications of renewables in data centers. Along
with the other members of the Advisory Board, Eco4Cloud
will provide feedback on technical developments and will also act as
ambassador for the project, playing a critical role in ensuring that RenewIT
retains an outward-looking approach that meets the needs of industry
and research, vendors and end-users -such as data center operators-
while continuing to advance the state-of-the-art.
"The appointment to the Advisory Board of the RenewIT Project is both a honor and a responsibility, as well as a testament of Eco4Cloud's
thought leadership in the area of Data Center optimization. Scientific
innovation applied to compelling industry needs is foundational for both
Eco4Cloud and RenewIT,
and I trust this strategic collaboration will drive great benefits for
the entire data center ecosystem in Europe and globally," said Roberto
Mircoli, CEO of Eco4Cloud.
"Although only just established, the RenewIT Advisory Board is
already delivering value by creating close links with industry and
research institutions. Many board members either own or operate data centers, or deliver data center software, technology and services. We
want to ensure the project results in innovative research but is also of
real value to the data center industry," said Dr. Jaume Salom of IREC and RenewIT project co-ordinator.
