Sumo Logic Surpasses All Goals and Hires Industry Veteran Ramin Sayar as CEO to Lead Rapid Growth Phase

Sumo Logic, the next-generation machine data intelligence company, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Ramin Sayar as president and chief executive officer; more than 100 percent sequential quarter bookings growth; over 500 customers; and a robust ecosystem of partnerships with the industry's top technology innovators in cloud, big data, DevOps and machine learning including AWS, Akamai, Chef, SaltStack and ServiceNow. The subject of a separate announcement today, the company also announced its vision for modernizing the backbone of the cloud economy with a utility model for data insights. Sayar hails from VMware, where he was senior vice president and general manager of the Cloud Management Business Unit. Sayar will lead Sumo Logic as it becomes the de facto purpose built, cloud-based data analytics platform for enterprises to ensure flawless delivery of mission critical applications and services.

Sayar's appointment capitalizes on Sumo Logic's existing market traction. By adding Sayar to the management team, a seasoned industry veteran who brings a strong track record for building and leading high-growth enterprise organizations, Sumo Logic solidifies its position as the major provider for cloud analytics. At VMware, Sayar created the cloud management vision, oversaw the development of the products and go-to-market strategy and built the the fastest growing business unit with nearly $1 billion in revenue which established VMware as the leading virtualization and cloud management vendor. With 20 years of industry experience, he is a strategic and operating leader of both small and large organizations, and has a strong track record of developing innovative and market leading products in both emerging and mature markets. Previously, Sayar held a variety of key product executive and leadership roles at marquee companies such as HP Software, Tibco Software, iPlanet, AOL and Netscape. He also serves on the technology and executive boards of various startup companies.
