VMware vExpert 2015 Announcement - Everything is Awesome

VMware has announced this year’s list of lucky recipients of the VMware vExpert 2015 award.  In case you missed it, the announcement was made on the official VMware VMTN blog where the entire list of 2015 vExperts can be found.

Once again, allow me a moment to say, "Everything is Awesome!"  I am proud and honored to be selected and named as a member of this year's prestigious vExpert group.  I'd also like to give a special shout out to thank Corey Romero (@vCommunityGuy) and the entire VMware Social Media & Community Team for everything they do to make this program the huge success that it is, year after year.  We all know that sometimes this group of talented people can be... well, a handful to deal with.  As an example, it shouldn't be long before we start asking for "things" like license keys (if we haven't already).  :)

The VMware vExpert community is and always has been a shining example of how to do a community recognition program the right way.  So kudos to VMware.

The initial program started back in 2009, and I was fortunate to be named a member of that original class of 300 lucky recipients.  This year, it looks as though the list has grown to 1,039 people, the largest group to date.

And I'd like to welcome and congratulate each and every one of you to one of the best community groups around.  There are many individuals returning, but there are a lot of new faces being added to the program as well, bringing with them fresh ideas and new perspectives.

Here's a quote from the official announcement:

I’m pleased to announce the list 2015 vExperts. Each of these vExperts have demonstrated significant contributions to the community and a willingness to share their expertise with others. Contributing is not always blogging or Twitter as there are many public speakers, book authors, script writers, VMUG leaders, VMTN community moderators and internal champions among this group.

I want to personally thank everyone who applied and point out that a “vExpert” is not a technical certification or even a general measure of VMware expertise. The judges selected people who were particularly engaged with their community and who had developed a substantial personal platform of influence in those communities...

If you missed out on being named a 2015 vExpert this time around, make sure to watch for the second half of 2015 applications to open up - and apply.

Once again, congrats to all 2015 vExperts!
