NIMBOXX,
a leader in Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) solutions, today
announced it has expanded its executive management team with the
addition of technology industry veterans Tejas Vakil and Andy Salo.
Vakil will serve as vice president of sales and marketing, while Salo
will focus on product strategy and alliances, as vice president of
product management. Together, Vakil and Salo bring more than fifty years
of product management, sales, marketing and engineering experience to
the company.
“The market for hyperconverged infrastructure products has grown
quickly, with NIMBOXX serving on the forefront of innovation in this
space,” said Rocky Bullock, CEO of NIMBOXX. “The addition of industry
veterans like Tejas and Andy will allow us to accelerate our product
strategy to meet customer demand, and ensure our marketing and sales
organization is well positioned to support strategic sales and revenue
goals.”
With more than 35 years in the computer and services industry, Vakil
provides leadership in revenue creation, channel development, external
messaging and market positioning. He has held executive positions at
Dell, Compaq, Arvato (Bertelsmann), and Tandem, as well as multiple
startups in the virtualization, blade server and RFID markets.
“In my 30+ years in the computer industry, I have never seen a start-up
as well positioned in an emerging technology segment as NIMBOXX,” said
Vakil. “In a relatively short period of time the company has developed
an award-winning hyperconverged technology platform that is changing the
way customers and partners implement their private cloud strategies. I
look forward to working with the team to ramp up sales and marketing
activities with the goal of becoming the market leader in this space.”
Andy Salo brings more than 20 years of experience to NIMBOXX in product
management, sales and engineering at successful high-tech companies.
Most recently, Salo was vice president of product management at Imagine
Communications through the acquisition of RGB Networks, where he defined
the software cloud strategy for CloudXtream, an OpenStack-based private
cloud architecture for video service providers. He has also held
go-to-market strategy roles at network caching and delivery company
Inktomi (acquired by Yahoo), storage security vendor Decru (acquired by
NetApp), security leader TippingPoint (acquired by 3Com/HP), and network
management software leader SolarWinds (IPO).
