Zenoss Inc., the
leading provider of unified IT monitoring and service analytics for
virtual, physical and cloud-based IT infrastructures, today announced TuneIn, the world's largest audio network, has upgraded from open-sourced Zenoss Core to Zenoss Service Dynamics, the full-featured and commercially-support unified monitoring platform from Zenoss.
TuneIn streams
radio content from every continent to web and mobile, providing 50
million monthly active listeners access to more than four million
on-demand programs and podcasts, and over 100,000 live radio stations
worldwide.
Like many rapidly-growing technology companies, TuneIn initially chose Zenoss Core,
the open-source unified monitoring solution from Zenoss, to provide
robust yet low-cost data center and network infrastructure monitoring.
As their listener-base expanded rapidly, TuneIn moved quickly to ensure
its listeners continue to receive the high listening quality they had
come to expect.
"TuneIn
carries more live audio content than any other audio service, so we
needed an extremely powerful monitoring solution from the start. Zenoss
Core allowed us to get started quickly and inexpensively with a unified
monitoring solution," said Mike Cook, Director of Technical Operations
at TuneIn. "As
our data and network environment is very complex, we needed to improve
our monitoring capabilities, and the extensibility provided in Zenoss
Service Dynamics via the VMWare, Cisco UCS, and Amazon AWS Zenpacks were
a good fit for TuneIn."
"The
next generation of all-digital consumers is driving growth in the
entertainment industry today, and the most innovative brands have
eagerly embraced the artistic, operational and economic benefits of
digital technology," states Brian Wilson, Senior Vice President of
Customer Success. "TuneIn knows the secret to high user satisfaction in
digital entertainment is the highest possible availability and service
quality. Zenoss uniquely provides IT operations teams in digital
entertainment with a unified service-level view, to improve service
quality, reduce operational costs, and address issues before they impact
service delivery."
"TuneIn
needed a complete, top down view that allowed us to monitor application
health and availability, have root cause analysis, and provide deeper
integration between our physical datacenter and cloud environments,"
said Mike Cook, Director of Technical Operations at TuneIn.
Available as an on-site or cloud-based service,
Zenoss Service Dynamics provides
unified, automated performance and availability monitoring and event
management for any organization's entire IT infrastructure. Robust APIs
facilitate easy integration with provisioning systems, service desk
applications, CMDBs, and orchestration systems, enabling a holistic
approach to managing IT service delivery.
