Login PI v1.0 Releases With Fanfare

Login PI v1.0 is available now for IT administrators who want better insight into the performance of their production Virtualized Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) or remote desktop session (RDS) host environment. Today’s release announcement includes the availability of analyst validation, a new Hands-on Lab, and a live podcast with industry gurus Brian Madden and Gabe Knuth today at 9:30 a.m. PDT.

Login PI gives IT the advantage of understanding the current end user experience within their VDI environment by using highly realistic synthetic users instead of production end users. This synthetic user approach allows IT to stay ahead of trouble tickets. The product uses the core technology of Login VSI, the industry standard performance testing and validation software. As John Abbott of 451 Research explains, Login PI “…can be a less intrusive and more predictable way of spotting problems before users themselves notice.” (451 Research report on Login PI, March 17 2015.)

With performance insights from Login PI, IT can be more proactive and effective in delivering high availability and an excellent end user experience. Because VDI environments are so complex and interactive, troubleshooting requires a proactive approach. (Read about proactive user experience in the Gartner report, Employ Multifaceted Monitoring Approaches for Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop, by Vivek Bhalla and Jonah Kowall published Jan 16, 2014 here.)

Additionally, Login PI, especially in combination with Login VSI, helps mitigate risk for IT. User productivity failures or system downtime come at a measurable financial and operational cost. Knowing performance bottlenecks and outages in advance of end users experiencing them is critical. This operational risk must be addressed by choosing the right technology and methodology for gaining performance insights.

“Login PI represents the next step for Login VSI to provide solutions for the most challenging issues in VDI—end user experience,” says Login VSI Product Manager, Adam Carter. “This product was built from our customers’ expressed needs, and makes a real difference in the IT administrator’s ability to have performance insight and knowledge,” Carter continues.

The Login PI Hands-on Lab is available for those who want a sandbox environment to evaluate Login PI. For those who want a full experience, the 30 day free trial is available.
