Nimboxx Releases New Version of Hyperconverged Infrastructure Solution for Enhanced Performance and Reliability

Nimboxx, a leader in Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) solutions, today released new updates to its award-winning, private cloud-in-a-box solution. New features include enhanced MeshOS capabilities and a new AU-120x appliance with expanded storage capacity. Combined, these updates offer improved automation, administration and resilience for progressive customers transitioning away from legacy datacenter architectures.

Updates to the Nimboxx MeshOS include the ability to configure up to ten virtual machine (VM) bridges for secure VM-to-VM communication within a node and per-VM configurable auto-start of a VM upon node restart. Improvements also include enhanced support for Ethernet jumbo frames, higher performance hardware components and bulk actions for VM and user management functions.

In addition, Nimboxx introduced the new AU-120x, built on the same high-performance hardware platform as the 9.6 TB AU-110x HCI appliance, yet offering 14.4 TB of raw storage capacity per node. The AU-120x supports more data and storage-intensive applications such as content management, enterprise database hosting and big data analytics. Specific features include:

  • Up to 360,000 IOPS per node
  • 14.4 TB of storage capacity
  • 256 GB of memory with 32 cores
  • Two 10 GbE ports plus four 1 GbE ports
  • VM density: 200 VMs per node
  • Flexibility to deploy in a mesh in any combination (with AU-110, AU-110x)
  • Deployment in under 10 minutes
  • Start with a single node, scale to hundreds
  • Manage the entire solution with a single pane of glass

“This latest MeshOS release, and introduction of the AU-120x, builds on our mission to deliver solutions that are easy to use and grow rather than requiring replacement when customer business needs evolve,” said Andy Salo, vice president of product management at Nimboxx. “By adding increased resilience, performance and capacity, we’re helping customers future-proof their infrastructure, a single node at a time.”

Nimboxx, recently designated a Gartner “Cool Vendor” in 2015 and a Market Leader in the IDC MarketScape for 2015 on Virtual Client Computing Software, develops HCI appliances that combine compute, storage and networking to help organizations bridge the gap from disparate, legacy environments to a powerful and intelligent hyperconverged infrastructure. Key features include rapid deployment, dynamic storage orchestration, high availability and a shared-nothing management model. The high availability features of MeshOS ensure data resilience with only two nodes versus three for competing solutions.
