Lenovo and SimpliVity Announce Alliance to Deliver Enterprise-Grade Hyperconverged Infrastructure Solutions

Today, Lenovo and SimpliVity announced a partnership to deliver hyperconverged infrastructure solutions based on their joint technologies. SimpliVity’s OmniStack data virtualization platform will now be available as an integrated solution with Lenovo System x3650 servers through Arrow Electronics. The solution will be offered in the North America channel in Q4.

“Customers will benefit from SimpliVity’s new hyperconverged solution offerings, with Lenovo’s highly versatile enterprise servers as a foundation,” said Brian Hamel, vice president and general manager, Lenovo North America Enterprise Business Group. “These high-performance systems will exponentially reduce data center complexity and costs for cloud-based services and mission-critical transactional systems.”

“The partnership and joint solution is truly driven by customer demand in the market,” commented Doron Kempel, CEO of SimpliVity. “Businesses desire the flexibility and performance of the Lenovo systems and the superior data efficiency, mobility, built-in data protection and global unified management capabilities that only SimpliVity’s hyperconverged solutions deliver.”

The SimpliVity OmniStack Solution running on Lenovo System x3650 M5 is a hyperconverged IT platform that provides all IT services below the hypervisor, including compute, storage, and networking, real-time data deduplication, compression, and optimization functions along with built-in backup, disaster recovery, and WAN optimization capabilities—all in a single device.

The enterprise-grade hyperconverged solution provides a scalable, modular, 2U building block of x86 resources offering all the functionality of traditional IT infrastructure. OmniStack eliminates IT expense and complexity by consolidating 8 to 12 data center components into a single shared resource pool with global unified management.

The x3650 M5 offers high performance and pay-as-you-grow flexibility and is a great choice for businesses of all sizes. The x3650 M5 is designed to lower operating costs by providing outstanding reliability, availability and serviceability (RAS) to keep business-critical applications and cloud deployments running efficiently, and comprehensive systems management tools that streamline deployment.

Key benefits of the SimpliVity OmniStack Solution with Lenovo include:

  • Simplified IT and 3x TCO savings through hyperconvergence
  • Improved performance for mission-critical applications combined with 40:1 average data efficiency
  • Enhanced ability to meet RPO and RTO objectives
  • Improved IT agility with VM-centric management approach
