VMUG Announces New CEO, Expands VMware's EVALExperience

VMware User Group (VMUG) recently announced Brad Tompkins as the new VMUG CEO. In his role, Tompkins is responsible for providing executive leadership for the organization, as well as oversight of all VMUG programs and operations.

"The growth VMUG has experienced in the last five years has been tremendous, and I look forward to being a part of taking VMUG into the future. It is an exciting time for the organization and I am happy to be a part of it." said Tompkins.

With 20 years of experience in the IT industry, Tompkins has served in a variety of roles and organizations, and has been deeply engaged in managing VMware solutions. Prior to VMUG, Tompkins was general manager at Immedion, an IaaS provider in Asheville, NC, where he was responsible for oversight of branch operations, developing sales strategies and overall customer interaction. Tompkins plans to use his experience to lead VMUG members into the next level of knowledge and IT trainings.

VMware's new EVALExperience is one such example of elevating VMUG as a resource for VMware training opportunities. EVALExperience gives IT professionals exclusive access to all of the tools essential to staying engaged with the latest technologies and taking their skills to the next level.

VMware's EVALExperience offers VMUG Advantage Subscribers the following:

  • Opportunities to explore VMware technology for a 365 day period for personal use in a non-production environment
  • Hands-on experience with selected desktop and infrastructure software for personal use
  • Access to nine applications for testing and evaluation

EVALExperience is an extended product evaluation offering for select products and is exclusively available to VMUG members with a new or current VMUG Advantage Subscription. This member benefit is available at no additional cost beyond the $200 annual VMUG Advantage Subscription fee.
