Ravello
Systems, the world’s leading nested virtualization company, today
announced it was named Best of Show at VMworld 2015.
The VMworld Best of Show award distinguishes the one company deemed
“best-of-the-best” out of 150 product nominees from six categories, and
for Ravello, highlights its strong overall momentum in the enterprise
space.
The Best of VMworld Awards recognize the most exceptional products on
display at VMware’s annual user conference
VMworld brings together more than 20,000 attendees representing thought
leaders, subject matter experts, and IT professionals in the
virtualization and cloud industry. In the VMworld Solutions Exchange,
the latest competitive solutions are displayed side-by-side with more
than 240 enterprise sponsors and exhibitors showcasing their products.
Best of VMworld winners are chosen by a team of expert judges - the
products on display were evaluated on a variety of areas, including
innovation, performance, ease of integration into existing environments,
ease of use and manageability, functionality, value and the ability to
fill a market gap. In addition, the judges spoke to existing customers
of Ravello for references about their experiences with the technology.
“We use the Ravello Systems service to model complex production ESXi
infrastructures without the overhead of buying our own rack servers or
paying for expensive managed data centers,” said Vivek Nair, co-founder
and CTO at StacksWare. “With Ravello’s full-featured developer API,
we’re able to automate and schedule our build process to test for
optimal functionality and performance across infrastructures of varying
scale such as SMB ESXi clusters and sophisticated enterprise data
centers.”
“We are honored and thrilled that Ravello was recognized as the overall
Best of Show winner at VMworld 2015. Ravello makes it easy for
enterprises to use the infinite capacity of leading public clouds like
AWS and Google, and this award underscores the work we put in to our
industry-leading products,” said Benny Schnaider, co-founder and
chairman of Ravello Systems. “We are particularly proud of our newest
offering, InceptionSX, as it delivers the only way to run nested VMware
ESXi on public clouds, such as AWS and Google Cloud, an industry-first
in the virtualization and cloud world.”
Ravello also won the Gold Award as the best product in the Workload
Automation and Management category.
Ravello runs VMware on AWS and Google Cloud
Ravello Systems has developed HVX, a nested hypervisor with overlay
networking and storage, which delivers self-contained capsules that can
run existing virtual environments, including the hypervisor such as
VMware ESXi itself, on public clouds such as AWS and Google.
Ravello recently launched a new offering called InceptionSX, which helps
the VMware customer base, reseller and technology partner ecosystem by
enabling multi-node VMware ESXi lab environments on-demand, for
development, testing, training, demos, proofs of concept, evaluations
and more. VMware administrators and enterprises no longer need to wait
for hardware or be dependent on hosting providers to set up their
sandboxes and test environments. They can simply install and configure
ESXi inside AWS and Google Cloud, the most cost-effective, reliable and
geographically spread clouds in the world. During a four-month beta, the
technology was battle-tested by over 1250 VMware users, with more than
one million ESXi CPU hours ran and 25,000 ESXi labs published.
Ravello is delivered as a service, with pricing starting at $0.14 per
hour. A free
trial is available to get started, with up to 2,880 CPU hours
available free of charge.
