Cellwize, the innovative Self-Organizing Network (SON) solutions provider, today announced that it has joined the
HP OpenNFV Application Partner Program to further support Network Function Virtualization (NFV).
HP's
initiative to build a comprehensive NFV platform, which enables the
telecom industry to accelerate the development and delivery of new and
innovative services through the virtualization of core networks and
network functions, will now include Cellwize's centralized-SON (C-SON)
solutions, elastic-SON through its SONCloud architecture.
With
Cellwize's participation in the HP OpenNFV Partner Program, customers
are able to maximize the SONCloud architecture for quick deployment of
elastic-SON, supporting multiple-tenant and instance scenarios. Cellwize
customers are already benefiting from a reduction in OPEX, accelerated
time-to-market, higher service agility, and the ability to scale up or
down to address volatility and peaks in demand.
"NFV
is a key technology for mobile network service providers, since it
makes it faster and easier for them to introduce and rollout new
services without being tied to physical and proprietary hardware," said
Ofir Zemer, CEO of Cellwize. "Now, with the addition of our SONCloud
architecture in HP's OpenNFV Application Program, we can quickly broaden
and strengthen our SON offering to offer a comprehensive carrier-grade
SON solution over NFV. This cutting edge capability is essential with
the growing demand for massive LTE rollouts, network modernization and
network sharing projects."
"The
HP OpenNFV Partner Program provides an open, proven and innovative NFV
environment for multi-vendor collaboration and exchange between all
contributors in the value chain," said Werner Schaefer, vice president,
Network Functions Virtualization, HP. "NFV combined with SONCloud will
provide considerable OPEX savings for mobile network service providers
and further simplify network management. We are pleased to add Cellwize
SON solutions to our application portfolio".
