AVI Networks Appoints Amit Pandey as New CEO
Avi Networks, the next-gen ADC company enabling automation, self-service and elastic scale, today appointed Amit Pandey as the new chief executive officer. Pandey spent nearly a decade at NetApp in a wide range of executive positions, and followed that with two successful stints at startups - first as CEO of TerraCotta that was acquired by the European software giant, Software AG and next as CEO of Zenprise that was acquired by Citrix.

Over the past decade, digital transformation has become a key initiative within businesses as enterprises compete based on the efficiency of their applications. Fueled by explosive cloud and mobile adoption successful enterprises have maintained a maniacal focus on improving the speed at which they can bring new apps to market.  Unfortunately, the application delivery (load-balancing) paradigm has not evolved to keep up with today's application-driven economy and gets in the way of guaranteeing application performance, security and resilience. Legacy ADC vendors have continued to push a 15-year-old architecture that was designed for a static, client-server and desktop era.

Avi Networks' next-gen ADC was designed to deliver breakthrough advancements in agility, automation and risk-mitigation. Since its launch in December of 2014, Avi Networks has been adopted by some of the largest enterprises and cloud service providers for its ability to provide elastic scale without the need for capacity pre-provisioning and for dramatically reducing operational complexity through automation and analytics. Pandey takes the helm as Avi Networks continues to seize upon the market opportunities created by the the digital transformation of the enterprise application landscape.

Pandey brings considerable experience and a track record of leading high-growth and highly innovative organizations. His last CEO role was at Zenprise which emerged as a market leader and innovator in the $6 billion+ Enterprise Mobility Management Market (EMM). Prior to Zenprise, Amit served as CEO at TerraCotta, Inc. and helped establish it as the dominant player in the distributed caching space.  Before TerraCotta, Amit was at NetApp in various senior executive roles and grew both the Data Management and the Enterprise Security Gateway businesses from incubation to hundreds of millions of revenue.

"I welcome Amit to Avi Networks and look forward to his expertise and leadership as we continue to execute on our goal of delivering unprecedented levels of agility, automation and operational simplification," said Umesh Mahajan, co-founder and former CEO of Avi Networks." I expect this to be a seamless transition, and I will remain deeply involved in the company, taking on the role of Chief Strategy Officer and focusing my efforts on driving strategic customer accounts and growing our relationships with key technology partners"

"It's quite astounding that the multi-billion dollar load-balancing and ADC industries have not responded to the huge movements towards self-service, DevOps and cloud, evidenced by the lack of major innovation from these legacy vendors in over a decade," said Amit Pandey, CEO of Avi Networks. "By comparison, our customers are excited about Avi's groundbreaking capabilities that enable elastic scale, self-service provisioning and much higher levels of automation.  That's why I'm excited to join a great team and together we will help Avi capitalize on a huge market opportunity in front of us."
