Midokura, the global innovator in software network virtualization, today announced its integration with
Mirantis OpenStack,
providing joint customers an integrated solution for rapid OpenStack
deployment. The MidoNet Plugin for Fuel is available immediately.
"Software
Defined Networking solutions are a key enabler for OpenStack customers
to build out large-scale clouds and to reduce their operational costs
and increase overall agility," said Kamesh Pemmaraju, VP of product
marketing at Mirantis. "We are happy to partner with Midokura to bring a
unique, distributed network virtualization architecture to our customer
base. The Fuel plugin automates the entire deployment of the solution
and makes it easy for customers to use the joint solution
out-of-the-box."
Mirantis
OpenStack provides users exceptional reliability and flexibility from
traditional virtualization. It leverages Fuel, an open source deployment
and control plane for OpenStack, to streamline deployment automation.
Developed as an OpenStack community effort, Fuel provides an intuitive,
GUI-driven experience for not only automated deployment, but also
management of OpenStack related community projects and plugins.
Midokura's award-winning Midokura Enterprise Management (MEM)
technology provides a software layer directly within existing physical
network hardware, turning physical machines into a virtual platform that
can scale to hundreds of thousands of virtual ports. The MidoNet Plugin
for Fuel provides an integrated solution marrying two leading
technologies for rapid OpenStack deployment.
"We
recognize that Mirantis customers receive outstanding end-to-end support
for deploying OpenStack in production," said Adam Johnson, VP of
business for Midokura. "The only missing piece was an easy-to-deploy and
scalable networking overlay technology. Today, we are delighted to
cement our technical and business alliance with Mirantis and fill the
gap with the availability of the MidoNet plugin for Fuel. We look
forward to delivering easier, more affordable and more scalable
networking to Mirantis customers around the globe."
This news
comes on the heels of Midokura's OEM partnership with Fujitsu in July.
