eFolder Adds Cloud-Based Disaster Recovery for Veeam-Protected VMware Environments

eFolder, a leading supplier of business continuity services for the IT channel, today announced that the eFolder BDR for Veeam service now supports cloud-based disaster recovery for Veeam-protected VMware vSphere environments. This addition to the eFolder BDR for Veeam service enables IT channel partners to add profitable and reliable off-site backup and disaster recovery services to any Veeam software deployment, whether it is deployed in VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V environments.

VMware is the market leader in virtualization software deployments. According to the IDC WW Quarterly Server Virtualization Tracker published in June 2014, VMware vSphere represents 46.4 percent of the server virtualization market share. The same report found that Microsoft Hyper-V represented 30.6 percent of the market.

Veeam has staked its position as the industry leader in backup, restore and replication of both VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V environments. Today, Veeam boasts over 157,000 customers, 9.1 million virtual machines protected, and 29,000 partners, with the majority of Veeam deployments supporting VMware vSphere environments.

eFolder BDR for Veeam, a service that was launched in March 2015, is designed exclusively for delivery by IT channel partners and leverages Veeam Availability Suite v8 to replicate backup images to the eFolder Cloud, providing verified virtual machine backups in the cloud to defend against any type of business disaster. Partners that deploy eFolder BDR for Veeam have multiple ways to recover virtual machines from VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V environments in the event of an outage or site-wide disaster, including cloud-based recovery in the eFolder Continuity Cloud.

“eFolder BDR for Veeam is the most comprehensive off-site backup and disaster recovery service for Veeam,” says Ted Hulsy, vice president of marketing at eFolder. “Enhancing the service to support cloud-based disaster recovery of VMware environments, which we know to be the majority of Veeam deployments, gives IT channel partners the opportunity to offer a profitable, end-to-end disaster recovery solution for any virtualized environment.”

eFolder BDR for Veeam is currently available to partners in the United States and Canada. Partners can learn more by visiting
