PLUMgrid, a leader of secure and scalable software defined networking solutions for OpenStack clouds,
is launching an advanced training and certification program tailored to
organizations that want to accelerate the mastery of SDN-based
OpenStack clouds among their network engineers and cloud architects.
PLUMgrid University's comprehensive curriculum on OpenStack networking,
teaches IT professionals how to move beyond the basic networking
"starter kit" that comes with OpenStack and move up to designing,
building and operating enterprise-wide scalable and secure virtual
network infrastructures based on OpenStack. Courses at PLUMgrid
University are taught by the company's senior OpenStack networking
experts, who collectively have trained over 1,000 cloud engineers and
architects who, in turn, have implemented more than 70 OpenStack clouds
around the globe.
Designed as a blend of theory and comprehensive hands-on labs, the
Advanced OpenStack Networking Certification program addresses virtual
networking design and technology principles; multi-tenancy; and advanced
deployment scenarios for OpenStack networking. Students will deeply
explore the implications of the transition from physical networking to
virtual networking and consider the implications in terms of security,
high availability, manageability and more. Students who achieve PLUMgrid
University's Advanced OpenStack Networking Certification will have the
knowledge and skills to play a significant role in planning for and
accelerating deployments of OpenStack clouds in their organizations.
"OpenStack is clearly now a global phenomenon offering organizations
the opportunity to create an IT infrastructure that can far more quickly
respond to the organic nature of today's business demands through
easy-to-use software," said Valentina Alaria,
Senior Director of Product and Solutions Marketing at PLUMgrid. "But to
get there, enterprises need to develop internal expertise in OpenStack
networking. PLUMgrid University offers the industry's first and only
advanced OpenStack networking certification program and helps
organizations develop in-house OpenStack networking experts who can lead
the way to a successful OpenStack deployment."
PLUMgrid offers virtual as well as classroom-based training.
OpenStack networking engineers, cloud architects, DevOps engineers, SDN
engineers and members of network operations teams and product teams are
encouraged to apply. Class schedules and registration information is
available at PLUMgrid University and via the OpenStack MarketPlace.

"The importance of the networking component of OpenStack deployment
cannot be overstated, and SDN continues to be a key part of enabling
organizations to build, operate, and automate OpenStack clouds. Our
partnership with PLUMgrid to offer in-depth training with hands-on labs
is a huge step forward for the OpenStack community to have a strong
curriculum that crosses multiple OpenStack distros. We look forward to
training students so they can achieve PLUMgrid's Advanced OpenStack
Network certification." - Marco Alves, Head of Education Services, SDN Essentials
