Armor Expands Leadership Team; Welcomes SVP of Strategy and Business Development

Armor, the leader in active cyber defense, today announced that Vatsal Sonecha has joined the company as the senior vice president of Strategy and Business Development. As a member of the executive leadership team, Sonecha will lead product strategy, as well as global technology partnerships and alliances, reporting to Armor founder and CEO, Chris Drake.

With more than 15 years of business and market development experience at both Fortune 500 and private companies, Sonecha knows how to build strategic alliances and drive innovative go-to-market strategies that map to aggressive growth plans. Prior to joining Armor, Sonecha served as the VP of Business Development for Tenable Network Security where he led technology partnerships and go-to-market alliances with Amazon, Cisco and VMware.

Prior to Tenable, Sonecha led product management and business development for TriCipher where he built a SaaS-based cloud identity management platform that was acquired by VMware. At VMware, he led the go-to-market strategy for the VMware Horizon Platform and worked with VMware’s largest resellers to drive the evolution of SaaS distribution practices.

Earlier in his career, Sonecha led McAfee’s (now known as Intel Security) entry into the global carrier market, conceived and evangelized the “Clean Pipes” vision, and drove 5x revenue growth. Sonecha was also an early advisor to Varonis, the leader in Data Governance and Security that went public in 2014.

“Vatsal has a proven track record of success in the industry. His laser-focused expertise from previous roles at other security powerhouses will play perfectly into the growth that Armor is experiencing. We’re looking forward to working with him to continue to accelerate Armor’s growth.” -- Chris Drake, Founder and CEO | Armor

“The security industry is at a very interesting crossroads; however, I believe we’ll begin to see more and more technology partnerships and alliances being created so that as a whole, we can begin to better secure enterprise infrastructure. Armor has the technology innovation and leadership to really push this needle forward and I’m honored to be a part of the team who is leading the way in security.”  -- Vatsal Sonecha, Senior Vice President of Strategy & Business Development | Armor
