Quadric Software—specializing in XenServer
backup and disaster recovery solutions—introduces a major shift in its
Alike product line to respond to the changing nature of virtual
infrastructure. Alike v4.0 introduces a web-based management console and
backup vaulting to Amazon S3 storage, both of which enable Alike to
protect cloud assets and leverage the cloud as a backup medium.
“Quadric Software is always innovating new
ways to manage and store backups in a complex IT environment,” said Phil
Baskette, CEO of Quadric Software. “In Alike 4.0, we recognize today’s
IT professionals are responding to powerful trends in cloud
infrastructure and demand bold solutions. As a trusted BDR vendor with a
proven track record for XenServer, Hyper-V, and legacy physical
systems, Quadric is showing the way forward.”
Alike 4.0’s new web interface delivers a rich,
responsive way for teams to collaborate on backup and disaster recovery
tasks while freeing them to monitor, protect, and recover from any
browser. Packed with Web 2.0 features, Alike 4.0’s manageability go
beyond its interface and into improved reporting, auditing, and
ease-of-use, ensuring that Alike continues to provide a comprehensive
backup solution for businesses that need to get up and running again
quickly.
Alike’s Offsite Vaulting capabilities are
extended in Alike 4.0, parlaying Alike’s strength in data deduplication
into cloud file storage. By supporting global data deduplication of all
VM backup data to an Amazon S3 bucket, Alike 4.0 offers a highly
efficient and scalable way to protect the modern heterogeneous virtual
environment. With improved support for SMB/CIFS vaulting, Alike 4.0 can
also implement disaster recovery from either a traditional network disk
or from the cloud.
