ESG Lab Report Validates the Performance Benefits of Using SIOS iQ Machine Learning Analytics With FlashSoft Software From SanDisk to Accelerate Performance in Virtual Machines

SIOS Technology Corp., a leading provider of software products that maximize availability and efficiency of virtualized environments, today announced that Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG), a leading IT research, analysis and strategy firm, validated the performance, ease of use, and accuracy benefits of using SIOS iQ machine learning-based IT operations analytics. In its Lab Spotlight Report: SIOS iQ & FlashSoft software: Analytics-driven Server Acceleration, ESG confirms SIOS iQ enables IT staff to identify the causes of application performance issues and determine the optimal use of caching to maximize performance all in a single click. SIOS iQ software identifies ideal candidate virtual machines (VMs) for performance acceleration using SanDisk FlashSoft host-based caching software, Fusion ioMemory enterprise PCIe application accelerators and SanDisk enterprise SAS and SATA solid-state drives (SSDs).

Using the recommendations made by the SIOS iQ analytics software, ESG Lab optimally configured the FlashSoft caching software and observed performance accelerations from 2x to more than 60x. ESG also validated that the SIOS iQ analytics software accurately predicted the resulting performance improvements from the use of recommended host based caching configurations.

The SIOS and SanDisk solutions address the increasing need for easier, more cost-efficient ways to identify and resolve root causes of performance issues in large, complex virtual and cloud environments. Host-based caching with FlashSoft software utilizing SanDisk’s Fusion ioMemory PCIe application accelerators and SSDs provides significantly greater performance and provides a far more cost-efficient solution than approaches using all-flash storage arrays or storage systems with SSDs as caching tiers.
