Skyport Systems Appoints New Executive Vice President of Sales to Maximize Hyper-Secured Infrastructure Growth Opportunities

Skyport Systems, the leading developer of Hyper-Secured Converged Infrastructure, today announced the appointment of Rick Hanson to the position of executive vice president of global sales. Hanson will lead the company’s market expansion as it continues to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the launch of Skyport’s SkySecure solution earlier in 2015.

“No one else in the industry today has the depth of knowledge and experience in security solution sales that Rick now brings to Skyport,” said Art Gilliland, CEO of Skyport Systems. “I look forward to working closely with him to extend Skyport’s leadership in securing organizations’ most valuable IT assets.”

Hanson is a 30 year veteran of the information security industry, having most recently served as senior vice president of global software sales for Hewlett Packard, where he previously also led the global enterprise security sales team. Prior to joining HP, he led the Americas security sales team at Symantec. He previously served in a variety of leadership roles during 14 years at RSA Security, including vice president of global sales engineers. Hanson also served in technical leadership roles with the U.S. Customs Service and the U.S. Air Force. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Skyport’s SkySecure solution delivers powerful workload specific security enforcement without impacting performance or requiring changes to the application, operating system or network. Skyport’s converged security solution combines a hardened server platform with integrated security capabilities resulting in a server that securely boots, detects and prevents malware and rootkits, wraps each application in a dedicated firewall, logs and records every transaction and is centrally managed to simplify operational complexity. Simple and easy to use, it is a threat prevention system that is hard for hackers to break into and even harder for them to escape.

“Skyport sits in a truly unique position at the intersection of compute, storage and security, with a solution set that offers clear benefits to customers and channel partners,” said Hanson. “In all of my time in the security industry, I have never seen a more compelling value proposition offered at a more opportune time for the market. I am extremely proud to join Skyport and I look forward to working with this amazing team of infrastructure and security experts to help grow the company.”
