Ericom Takes Remote Access Management for Enterprises and Services Providers to New Level

Ericom Software, a global leader in application access and desktop virtualization solutions, today announced the release of Ericom Connect 7.3, a centrally managed access solution that accelerates Ericom’s penetration into the enterprise and cloud domains.

Building on Ericom Connect’s elastic scalability, this new version enables enterprises to distribute their IT infrastructure across multiple data center locations rapidly, while ensuring accessibility, reliability and business continuity. This new version also empowers service providers to expand their cloud capabilities with access management of multiple tenants on a single Ericom Connect system, and provide these tenants with a variety of managed and self-managed services. For service providers and organizations, this means accelerated delivery of hosted desktops and applications deployments.

Ericom Connect 7.3’s unified administrative console and new support for multi-data center architecture means organizations can rapidly onboard branch offices and remote users by leveraging the power of the Ericom Connect Grid. By routing users to the nearest IT resources, efficiently and securely, Ericom Connect addresses the access and mobility requirements of the modern workforce. Moreover, Ericom’s “web first” strategy and HTML5 leadership mirror Ericom’s current and future focus on user-experience and usability enhancements, which cater to the needs of organizations, employees, and IT teams.

Joshua Behar, Ericom President and CEO, said, “In the past, rich functionality came with a high support price tag. Ericom Connect 7.3 reflects a combination of Ericom’s leadership and innovations in both native and clientless browser-based, managed access technology. This allows organizations to enjoy cost-reduction as well as robust performance, without compromising security, functionality or user experience.” Mr. Behar added, “Our vision, unique approach and integration with both Amazon and Microsoft Azure and cloud SQL database services, align with the kind of journey that many of today’s organizations seek - one involving an easy and gradual migration to the cloud.”

Robert Young, Research Director, ITSM and Client Virtualization Software, IDC, stated, “With Ericom Connect 7.3, Ericom remains committed to its strategy of enhancing access products with the robust workspace delivery features and functionality that most organizations need. Ericom Connect 7.3 stands to allow IT organizations to more effectively support large-scale deployments and manage the evolving requirements of today’s users across distributed environments, while also maintaining the simplicity that smaller-sized IT organizations require.”

Mark Bowker, Enterprise Strategy Group, Inc. commented "Ericom continues to innovate as they solidify themselves as a cloud services and DaaS enabler, providing businesses with robust products backed by an architecture that enables organizations to deliver applications and desktops at the scale they require to keep pace with today’s strategic business initiatives.”

Moving to the Cloud

With multi-tenancy support, Ericom Connect now enables service providers to offer managed and unmanaged access solutions such as Desktop as a Service (DaaS). Enterprises also can leverage this capability to manage isolated environments based on line of business, geographical locations, etc. The management of multiple tenants / customers is done via a unified web interface. To complement this, Ericom’s Delegated Administration feature is used to easily assign rights and privileges to a variety of users in accordance with security profiles and organizational hierarchy. Service providers can use this capability to provision customers and their respective users and groups.
