OneCloud Software, a leader in
the fast-growing hybrid cloud management market, today announced the
appointment of Mike Thompson as Chief Executive Officer. With a proven
track record of driving hyper growth for start-ups, Thompson will lead
OneCloud into its next phase - scaling the company's vision - in order
to ensure all companies have access to cost-effective and simple
disaster recovery.
"According to global forecast reports published by MarketsandMarkets, the data center colocation market is expected to grow 16.1% CAGR to over $54B in 2020 and the DRaaS market to grow 52.9% CAGR to reach almost $12B in 2020,"
explained Thompson. "This is a great time for disaster recovery and
OneCloud. With a solid vision, product, team and experienced investors,
we are in a great position to scale, and show enterprise organizations
that DR doesn't have to be complex - and that they can ensure all their
applications are protected to meet the needs of their business."
Prior to joining OneCloud Software, Thompson was President/CEO of
Sepaton, Inc. which was acquired by HDS/Hitachi after the successful
launch of a new innovative backup appliance. Prior to that, he served as
Executive Chairman and CEO/President of Egenera, Inc. where he grew the
company to $100M in just five years.
"Since launching OneCloud, we have stayed true to our founding vision
of leveraging the public cloud to offer intelligently-automated and
cost-effective disaster recovery for all companies," said Suresh Madhu,
founder of OneCloud, and Board of Directors member. "The team has done
the hard work of building and launching a great product. Mike, with his
experience and track record of successfully elevating start-ups, will
take what we have built and scale it to reach a broader audience of
customers and partners who are hungry for new - and more accessible - DR
options."
"Over the past 14 months, we have built a product that bridges the
gap between the complex and costly disaster recovery of the past and the
needs and demands of companies today," said Marc Crespi, vice president
of technology and alliances at OneCloud. "It has been great to be a
part of the team that created a new solution to an age-old problem, and I
look forward to the next chapter with Mike at the helm. We have some
exciting work ahead of us as we grow our customer base, create new
partnerships and build on our existing ones that will change the way
companies look at - and deploy - disaster recovery."
