Mirantis,
the pure-play OpenStack company, closed 2015 with record sales,
increasing its European customer base across the telecommunications,
media, and automotive sectors. The company's traction in Europe is
reflective of the
company's overall growth in 2015.
"Europe is a key focus for Mirantis as it grows its global footprint. We
have already seen terrific telecom and enterprise sales growth, and
plan to significantly increase our footprint in this region in 2016,"
said Mirantis' CEO, Alex Freedland.
Mirantis has recently opened a new office in Berlin, Germany, in
addition to existing branches in Amsterdam, the Netherlands; Grenoble,
France; Poznan, Poland; Moscow and Saratov, Russia; and Lviv and
Kharkiv, Ukraine. These offices allow Mirantis to capitalise on the
fast-growing interest in vendor-agnostic OpenStack environments in
Europe, and to further enhance support for European partners and
customers.
The company signed channel partnerships with Alterway (France), Amazic
(NL), Ammeon (IRL), Apalia (Fr & Switzerland) and B1 Systems (DACH),
and
trained 1500 engineers across Europe.
Mirantis has also expanded its executive team with several key hires:
Marque Teegardin, SVP Worldwide Sales: Teegardin has enjoyed tremendous
success over a 20 year career in the software industry. He contributed
to the significant growth at market-leading companies, PTC, Inc and NICE
Systems, where he led teams responsible for over $500m in annual
revenue. Prior to Mirantis, Teegardin led a rebuilding effort at
StoredIQ, an Austin Texas based Big Data Governance company. StoredIQ
doubled its revenue and became one of the most successful acquisitions
in IBM history under Teegardin's leadership. Since joining Mirantis in
March of 2015, Teegardin has led the team in a record-breaking year of
top-line sales revenue.
David Ogden, EMEA Managing Director: Ogden has more than 20 years
experience in the software industry, most recently with NICE Systems
where he transformed the sales model from a partner driven sales team to
a market leading advanced analytics sales team focused upon the
European Financial Markets. Taking a start-up mentality into Enterprise
organisations, Ogden has succeeded in building new markets and world
class sales teams that have consistently over achieved.
Rik Thorbecke, CFO; Jim Dvorkin, COO; Chris Keene, EVP/GM, Enterprise
Cloud Business Unit and Parvesh Sethi, EVP/GM, Services have also
recently joined Mirantis' executive bench.
The hires demonstrate the opportunity that Europe represents for
Mirantis and the potential for OpenStack to become the primary cloud
operating system. "Every European company is being disrupted by software
and is looking to differentiate and innovate quickly. Smart enterprises
are embracing the cloud to grow top line revenues and get new services
to market faster. Mirantis provides them with flexibility and agility
needed without vendor lock-in and is the only company 100 percent
committed to OpenStack," said Mirantis' new EMEA Managing Director,
David Ogden.
