Catalogic Software, the leading provider of in-place copy data management, today announced that it has won the 2015 Tech Trailblazer award
for Data Storage. This award is the latest in a wide range of industry
awards that Catalogic has received in only 10 months of shipping
product, underscoring the huge demand for in-place copy data management
and establishing Catalogic’s market leadership position.
Catalogic was selected for the top honor by a panel of well-known industry experts from
around the globe, and joins an elite group of companies with the win.
The Tech Trailblazer awards are widely recognized for selecting highly
innovative companies, and are often seen as a leading indicator for the
most successful early stage companies. 2013 winner, PernixData, has been
experiencing rapid worldwide growth putting it on track for a 2016 IPO,
and 2014 winner Solidfire was recently acquired by NetApp for
$870 Million.
For the 2015 award, Catalogic won based on the significant degree of
innovation that the company delivers with its flagship product, ECX, the
market’s only software-based copy data management platform designed to
leverage a customer’s existing storage environment. Catalogic ECX
delivers essential functionality that allows the IT team to modernize
its infrastructure, including automation of storage and data management,
self-service capabilities, and complete RESTful API management—all
without disruption. With these capabilities, IT teams can transform
their existing infrastructure without disruption, achieving significant
improvements to core operations—like data protection and disaster
recovery—while enabling new use cases like DevOps and Hybrid cloud. The
Tech Trailblazer judges were impressed that ECX installs in 15 minutes,
requires no new hardware, and enables such significant improvements to
enterprise IT operations.
Rose Ross, Founder and Chief Trailblazer commented, “On behalf of the
team and esteemed international judging panel, I congratulate Catalogic
for winning the Storage Tech Trailblazers Award. We were greatly
impressed by the ingenuity and innovation shown in their entry. Winners
of this year’s Tech Trailblazers Awards are some of the most exciting
enterprise tech startups making an impact in the business world today.
I’m sure we will be hearing more about the successes from these
inspiring startups in the future. We wish them the very best of tech
trailblazing luck in 2016.”
The award caps off a year in which Catalogic received many industry
awards in recognition for the company’s innovation and growth, including
CRN’s Tech Innovator Award, Network Products Guide Most Innovative Software product, Best in Biz Most Innovative Company, and NJBiz Business of the Year. The award also comes just two weeks after Catalogic’s major announcement of new solutions for DevOps and Hybrid Cloud.
“It’s a great honor to win the Storage Tech Trailblazer award, given
the experience of the judges and the strengths of other vendors in our
market,” said Ed Walsh, CEO, Catalogic Software. “Today’s award is
another indication of the appeal of our differentiated approach to copy
data management. There is strong demand for a non-disruptive data
management platform that leverages a customer’s existing infrastructure
to enable significant improvements to operations, and allows them to
deliver new services for their customers.”
The Tech Trailblazer award arrives just a few days before Catalogic
participates in a major industry conference dedicated to innovation.
Catalogic will be showcasing ECX at the InterConnect 2016 Conference,
next week, February 21-25 in Las Vegas in Booth #162. On Thursday,
February 25th in the Expo Theater, Catalogic CEO Ed Walsh will outline
how ECX can transform IBM storage to rapidly enable hybrid cloud and
self-service DevOps. This session will detail how to modernize IBM
enterprise storage environments without additional hardware.
