TIBCO Software Inc., a global leader in integration, analytics, and event processing, today announced that it has joined the
Cloud Foundry Foundation,
an independent non-profit organization that drives the development,
promotion, and adoption of Cloud Foundry as the industry standard
platform for cloud applications. As a Foundation member, TIBCO will be
in a position to actively contribute to the development of the platform
to meet the demands facing enterprises in the midst of cloud adoption.
"The path to digital business transformation demands a cloud
strategy that addresses the most challenging real-world requirements
encountered by enterprise IT departments," said Matt Quinn, executive
vice president of products & technology and chief technology
officer, TIBCO. "By joining the Cloud Foundry Foundation, we have an
opportunity to cooperatively enhance the Cloud Foundry platform,
equipping developers with the best tools to swiftly and safely architect
the kind of cloud-native applications that grow businesses."
TIBCO will be empowered to work with other Cloud Foundry
Foundation members to enable customer development of portable
cloud-native applications that leverage the TIBCO BusinessWorks Container Edition
platform. Natively running within a Cloud Foundry Platform-as-a-Service
(PaaS) environment, TIBCO BusinessWorks Container Edition provides the
fastest time to results for developers by letting them focus on the
business logic of their applications, leaving much of the complex work
of integrating applications and microservices to automation.
Assuring portability and interoperability is a cornerstone of
the Cloud Foundry Foundation's mission, and TIBCO is now an official
contributor to the goal of ensuring that digital businesses maintain
independence and control over choice of languages, frameworks,
application services, and clouds.
"At the Cloud Foundry Foundation, we are always looking for
ways to enhance our platform so that it provides vendor-agnostic
flexibility, scalability, and interoperability for cloud deployments to
help enterprises develop cloud deployments that best suit their business
needs," said Sam Ramji, chief executive officer, Cloud Foundry.
"Integration remains a key concern as cloud development proliferates, so
we are pleased that TIBCO will be sharing its expertise to deepen the
Cloud Foundry platform's capabilities."
