Illumio Adaptive User Segmentation Verified as Nutanix Ready and Citrix Ready for Securing XenDesktop and XenApp

Illumio today announced that its Adaptive User Segmentation has been verified as Citrix Ready for XenDesktop and XenApp. The Citrix Ready program helps customers identify third-party solutions that are recommended to enhance virtualization, networking and cloud computing solutions from Citrix Systems, Inc. Illumio completed a rigorous verification process to ensure compatibility with XenDesktop and XenApp, providing confidence in joint solution compatibility.

With both Citrix Ready and Nutanix Ready validations now in place, Illumio customers and solution partners can deploy a fully secured, massively scalable, and radically simple Citrix virtual desktop environment on top of Nutanix's hardened enterprise cloud infrastructure. Illumio Adaptive User Segmentation dynamically programs application connectivity rules through integration with Microsoft's Active Directory.

"User entitlement systems such as Active Directory are a critical 'source of truth' for the enterprise," said Alan Cohen, Chief Commercial Officer, Illumio. "By partnering with Nutanix and Citrix, we offer customers the ability to move faster and be more flexible with their infrastructure than ever before -- while empowering security teams to operate with the highest degree of trust."

The solution builds on user identity to prevent unauthorized communications with -- and access to -- applications, while adding no additional demands on the infrastructure, allowing it to remain "invisible" in Nutanix deployments.

"Organizations that have deployed Citrix XenDesktop on Nutanix Acropolis are driving down the costs and infrastructure complexity of deploying new app and desktop virtualization environments," said Venugopal Pai, Vice President, Strategic Alliances and Business Development, Nutanix. "Illumio's Adaptive User Segmentation gives our customers enhanced levels of control and protection for their highest-value applications."

By applying Adaptive User Segmentation to VDI, customers can now control which applications a user can connect to for hundreds of millions of virtual desktops.
