Bright Computing, the
leading independent provider of management software for high performance
computing (HPC) clusters, big data clusters, and OpenStack clouds,
announces that its Bright OpenStack solution is now fully integrated
with Talligent's advanced proprietary Openbook billing software for
OpenStack clouds.
Openbook supports key cost and capacity reporting requirements for an
efficient OpenStack cloud deployment. Its integration with Bright
OpenStack will be a huge benefit for users who operate OpenStack clouds,
especially when multiple clients, departments, or teams are sharing
resources and a chargeback or usage reporting mechanism is required.
"The shift to cloud for IT service delivery requires a management
model focused on cost and capacity control" said Sanjay Mishra, Founder
and Chief Technology Officer at Talligent. "The key to running an
efficient OpenStack cloud is providing clear visibility of resource
usage and related charges to all stakeholders - tenant, operators, and
executives. Integration with Bright OpenStack will make it easier than
ever for customers to add these essential functions to their OpenStack
cloud deployments."
Leveraging a detailed history of cloud usage, Openbook by Talligent
provides visibility into cloud resources consumed at the tenant and
project or business level. This visibility is critical for budgeting
and timely capacity planning in order to balance the need for high
utilization with the illusion of infinite capacity. A Restful API means
that the data can be shared where it is needed - customer portal,
legacy accounting and CRM systems, or management reports and alerts.
"Our integration with Talligent reflects Bright's unwavering
commitment to making it easy to deploy and manage OpenStack," said
Bright Computing CEO Bill Wagner. "Bright's certified OpenStack
distribution, which manages both OpenStack and the underlying physical
infrastructure from a single pane of glass interface, is further
strengthened by this integration with Talligent's industry-leading
software."
Bright Computing will be showcasing their integration with Talligent
in Booth #B13 at the OpenStack Summit in Austin, Texas, April 25-28,
2016. Talligent can be found in Booth A23 at the Summit or at
Talligent.com.
