The 13th Annual MIT
Sloan CIO Symposium has named AppFormix
a finalist for the 2016 Innovation
Showcase. AppFormix and nine other recipients will present to many
of the world’s most creative and influential IT executives at the
Symposium on May 18, 2016.
Last week, AppFormix received another major industry recognition when
judges awarded the company with the Best
of Interop 2016 Grand Award over perennial winners VMware and Cisco.
AppFormix received the honor in addition to two other Best of Interop
awards at the event.
The AppFormix
cloud service optimization platform uses advanced analytics and
orchestration to improve application performance in hybrid and private
clouds.
“We are thrilled to invite AppFormix and nine other top companies to our
2016 Innovation Showcase,” said Anton Teodorescu, Co-Chair of the
Innovation Showcase. “Their technologies are leading edge, and will be
vital to empowering the future digital economy.”
The Innovation Showcase judges evaluated and selected AppFormix for this
honor based on four important criteria:
1. Actively provides a B2B or B2C enterprise IT solution product to the
market;
2. Is a startup with less than $10 million in 2015 revenues;
3. Is selling enterprise IT solutions to CIOs or corporate IT
departments; and
4. Shows innovation and/or strategic value with high potential impact on
the top and/or bottom lines.
The Innovation Showcase will take place at 5:30 pm in the Kresge
courtyard tent on Wednesday, May 18, at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The agenda is available at www.mitcio.com/agenda.
Earlier this spring, AppFormix achieved three significant milestones
toward its goal of moving the slow, sleepy monitoring technology market
into the service-optimization era:
-
In March, the
startup announced that it had successfully integrated its
technology with the Kubernetes container cluster management project,
for public and private clouds including Amazon Web Services and
Microsoft Azure.
-
In April, AppFormix
and Intel announced a deal to integrate AppFormix software into
Intel’s newest processor family, leveraging Intel RDT to manage
workloads and containers at the processor level.
-
Also in April, Rackspace
announced that it will license AppFormix software and integrate it
as part of its OpenStack private cloud solutions, making Rackspace the
first cloud service provider to deliver a new level of cloud
optimization by offering complete workload isolation using Intel
Resource Director Technology (RDT).
-
In May, the company was selected for Best of Interop (see above).
“AppFormix offers a solution that every cloud operator will soon demand
to optimize their cloud resources and revolutionize data centers of
every shape and size,” said Sumeet Singh, founder and CEO of AppFormix.
“We are thrilled to be named an Innovation Showcase finalist not only
because of the prestigious endorsement it implies but also because it
provides a valuable opportunity for us to share our story with global
CIOs and industry experts most apt to appreciate the value of the
solution and recognize its potential to reshape the cloud optimization
landscape.”
