On May 26 Systancia will unveil a universal antidote for ransomware

At its annual keynote event, the software vendor Systancia, recognized for its virtualization and access security solutions, will present IPdiva Protect, an original solution for eradicating the threat of ransomware. It is associated with two products: AppliDis for the virtualization of applications and IPdiva for access security.

An approach conceived differently

Systancia, true to its ability to provide solutions conceived differently, has tackled the ransomware pandemic with a solution that is effective against all threats received by email. Today, the main vector of contamination of all types of virus is email, via attachments or links contained in messages. Some emails are clearly fake while others create doubt or appear fake but may in fact be authentic. Opening an attachment is often the best method for determining its value.

The solution developed by Systancia allows the attachment to be opened as one would any attachment, but in total safety. To do this, the file is opened in real time in a quarantine area in the cloud, outside of the company's IT system. Users can thus consult the attachment normally, look through it, and if it appears fake, just click to delete it. The system carries out a check in parallel in order to provide an opinion regarding the presence of a viral mechanism.

A technological feat

The uniqueness of this quarantine area is that it is definitively sealed off in addition to being located in the cloud. To this end, the engineers at Systancia have developed a system that opens the attachment in an area unconnected to any network. The first action of ransomware is to use the network capabilities of the workstation to encrypt whatever is accessible. Here, even the most violent virus will remain locked in this quarantine area. The technological feat was to bring into existence a quarantine area unconnected to a network but located in the cloud.

Totally transparent to the user

The system is totally transparent. For the user, it is simply explained that the attachment has been opened via IPdiva Protect. For businesses, unlike anti-virus software that needs to be installed on the workstation, IPdiva requires no installation and is compatible with Windows, iOS and Linux using all types of PC as well as tablets and smartphones.
