A Gold Sponsor of DockerCon 2016, VMware
is demonstrating its support for Docker containers across its
software-defined data center solutions to help IT deploy containerized
applications into production.
- Solving
the challenges of networking and security is a key enabler for
production deployments of Docker containers. To that end, VMware will
demonstrate an integration with Libnetwork in its booth (G3).
- VMware also announced the beta release of the Docker Volume Driver for vSphere,
a plugin is integrated with Docker Volume plugin framework. Using the
Docker Volume Driver for vSphere, customers can create and manage Docker
persistent volumes on vSphere storage technologies spanning Virtual
SAN, VMFS and NFS.
- VMware introduced Project Bellevue, a technology preview that will enable VMware vRealize Automation
to support containers. Project Bellevue capabilities such as modeling
containerized applications in vRealize Automation unified service
blueprints, provisioning container hosts from the vRealize Automation
service catalog and managing container hosts will be demonstrated in
VMware's booth.
