VMware Develops Secure Technical Implementation Guide for VMware AirWatch 9.X

VMware, Inc. announced the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) has released the VMware AirWatch 9.X Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), Version 1 for immediate use.

The VMware AirWatch Version 9.X STIG, which can be viewed here, defines secure installation requirements for use on Department of Defense (DoD) networks and meets the stringent security standards required for installation on Dept. of Defense (DoD) networks. The guide details the cybersecurity policies, requirements and controls needed for IT to implement across all systems and architectures.

"Federal agencies and security-conscious organizations alike look to STIGs as a guideline to create the most secure enterprise mobility management deployments," said William J. Rowan, vice president, Federal Sales, U.S. Public Sector at VMware. "While we've had a STIG for a previous version of the solution for several years, our customers want to take advantage of the innovations available in our latest iterations of AirWatch. This STIG validates that security is at the core of AirWatch and customers across the Dept. of Defense and other high-security environments can assuredly deploy the leading EMM solution."

To view the official STIG, visit the Information Assurance Support Environment (IASE) website and view the STIG release memo for VMware AirWatch Version 9.X. DISA previously released a STIG for AirWatch 6.5 in 2014.
