SIS, a leading U.S. provider of managed cloud services, today announced the launch of its new cloud management platform, CMP, a platform for enterprise clients. CMP is built on VMware vCloud Director and OnApp's cloud management, provisioning and billing solution for VMware vCloud Air Network -- the global ecosystem of VMware service providers. These solutions from VMware and OnApp enable SIS to offer fully automated, enterprise-grade cloud services with self-service provisioning and flexible billing to its 1,300 clients, which include small, medium and large enterprises in government, education, retail, finance, healthcare and manufacturing.
CMP is available now at SIS' Lexington and Chicago datacenters, and SIS customers are already being migrated to the new platform. SIS' new cloud management platform will also form the foundation of a new range of hybrid cloud services, which will help enterprises manage multiple types of public and private cloud infrastructure through a single interface.
"We selected OnApp as our customer facing portal for workload deployment and management because of the portal's support for the vCloud Director product, and other VMware software products that SIS leverages as a vCloud Air Network partner," said John Marrone, director, Managed & Cloud Services at SIS.
John continued, "strategically, we envision utilizing this collection of tools to further partner with AWS, Azure, Bluemix and Google Compute Platform as well as customers' existing VMware environments; giving our hybrid cloud customers a single UI to manage their growing infrastructure. We are encouraged and excited to continue to work closely with VMware and OnApp to aggressively provide our customers with a growing catalog of on-demand infrastructure and cloud services."
Narendar Shankar, president of OnApp USA, said: "It's fantastic to see SIS using OnApp to make cloud more simple, flexible and efficient for enterprise clients, in tandem with VMware's super-robust and secure cloud orchestration layer. We're looking forward to working with SIS to advance their hybrid cloud vision, and help bring a wide range of intuitive multi-cloud services to their customers."
"We are pleased to see SIS offering robust capabilities available through the VMware vCloud Air Network program," said Geoff Waters, vice president, Service Provider Channel, VMware. "Using VMware vCloud Director, and third party products such as OnApp, service providers can deliver cloud services that scale and are resilient across private, public and hybrid clouds."
OnApp is the first third party product to be available through the VMware vCloud Air Network program. OnApp's VMware portal is part of OnApp's complete hybrid cloud management platform for service providers and enterprises. More information is available at http://onapp.com/vmware.
