"Software Defined" is Redefined as Talari Unbundles SD-WAN Platform

Talari Networks, the SD-WAN pioneer, today announced the availability of a new, unbundled SD-WAN hardware and software packaging model that enables enterprise IT to more flexibly acquire, deploy, and upgrade a failsafe WAN edge.

"Talari software allows IT organizations to transition their networks to deliver next generation WAN Edge and SD-WAN solutions. While we initially offered software-only solutions for cloud and virtual environments, today we have separated the traditional hardware with software packaging model for all product lines and platforms," said John Dickey, co-founder, president and chief operating officer of Talari Networks. "This enables our customers to acquire our solutions in a flexible manner that is tailored to their unique business needs."

With this new unbundled procurement framework, a Talari customer acquires a physical, virtual or cloud-based appliance, which is then paired with a performance-based software license. This approach offers multiple customer benefits including:

  • Flexible Deployment Options - Since the software license is acquired separately, organizations can choose to leverage Intel-based platforms or pursue a turnkey hardware and software solution from Talari to host their SD-WAN and WAN edge services.
  • License Portability - Software licenses are transferable and can move between different hardware, virtual or cloud platforms. This allows organizations to get started with one type of Talari WAN Edge platform and then transition as their infrastructure evolves to support emerging cloud or virtual platforms--without incurring any additional cost.
  • Pay-as-You Grow Performance - "Right-size" the throughput level of an appliance by only purchasing the amount of bandwidth required with the understanding that upgrading to a higher performance level is fast and simple.

The new Talari software and hardware packaging is available as a subscription or perpetual license directly through Talari and authorized partners.
