Weave Cloud Agent Accepted to Docker Certification Program

Weaveworks, the makers of Weave networking, monitoring and management for containers and microservices, today announced that its Weave Cloud Agent has been accepted to the Docker Certification Program, a framework for partners to integrate and certify their technology to the Docker Enterprise Edition (EE) commercial platform. Weaveworks has successfully published Weave Cloud Agent, a version of Weave Scope which enables users to get up and running on Weave Cloud, as a certified image to be distributed via the Docker Store.

"We would like to congratulate Weaveworks on their acceptance of their Weave Cloud Agent into the Docker Certification Program," said Marianna Tessel, EVP, Strategic Development. "Enterprise IT teams are looking to Docker to provide recommendations and assurances on the ecosystem of container content, infrastructure and extensions. The company's inclusion into the program indicates that Weave Cloud Agent has been tested and verified by Docker, confirming for customers that its container images have been evaluated for security and are supported and built according to best practices."

Built on open source software, Weave Cloud is a software-as-a-service that allows DevOps teams to connect, monitor and deploy containers and microservices. It is simple to use, simple to operate, secure and highly available. With Weave Cloud, automation replaces manual configuration and scripting, accelerating development and providing the container-level and orchestrator-level information needed.

"Docker Store is a great place to distribute quality solutions that work with Docker," said Francesca Gutierrez, Strategic Partnerships, Weaveworks. "We are thrilled to have been asked to join the launch of the Docker Store Certification program, and that our first offering, Weave Cloud Agent, has met the rigorous testing requirements of the program. We intend to provide more certified Weaveworks products via the Docker Store."

"Observability is critical to developers building microservices," said Stuart Williams, Product Management, Weaveworks. "The Weave Cloud Agent builds a real-time model of Docker container application architecture, helping developers reason about and troubleshoot their application."
