International Data Corporation (IDC) has just released an IDC Innovators report recognizing three infrastructure vendors with revenue under $100 million that offer innovative solutions for improving server hardware utilization in the datacenter.
The three vendors recognized as IDC Innovators are: TidalScale, DriveScale, and Cloudistics.
- TidalScale's software-defined servers offers a new way to pool commodity server hardware into a single virtual system that matches the size of the data need, allowing it to be run completely in-memory.
- DriveScale provides a software-based datacenter architecture that allows datacenters more freedom for responsive scale-out deployments.
- And Cloudistics is potentially the first true software-defined cloud infrastructure that integrates network, storage, compute, virtualization, and management under a single platform.
IDC Innovators: Virtualizing Infrastructure with Software-Defined Compute, 2017 (IDC #US42024817) recognizes infrastructure vendors that offer software-defined compute capabilities by way of an innovative technology or a groundbreaking new business model or both. The IDC Innovators research document examines virtualization infrastructure companies with revenue of less than $100 million with a product, service, or business model with a specific use case.
